Throughout the seventy-one years that the NBA (National Basketball Association) has been alive there has been talks about a G.O.A.T (Greatest of all time). A certain player that has had the best career, best plays, or even the most championships among their peers. Many would argue many hours over who is the G.O.A.T, but this can’t be done without others having other opinions. I call this “The G.O.A.T Complex”. This is an obsession or fixation on trying to pinpoint or directly say that someone is the Greatest of all time. This can’t be done! All of our guesses are just opinions on who is the best. Also, we can’t do it because all of these players come from different Eras as I show in this chart below:
As you see all of these Eras were different. This is why we couldn’t just say LeBron is better Michael Jordan or vise versa because they both played in different times of the NBA. This “G.O.A.T Complex” ruins the purity of the game. It ruins the person’s outlook on a player. This is why we shouldn’t try to start to rank players because we already know once we start there will be a debate, and that debate will never stop.
When it happens remember you heard it here only from “At The Court with Arrick”
“Doing Sports the 757 Way”
